New! YOUNG PROFESSIONALS IN FOREIGN POLICY (YPFP DC): Women's Leadership In International Security (December 4, 6:00 pm) The number of women in leadership roles in the international peace and security field has improved in the past decade, but women remain under-represented in many senior level positions. How can women better prepare for and be encouraged to take on these roles in the future? Join in for a discussion with Jolynn Shoemaker, director of Women in International Security (WIIS), on the role of women's leadership in international security. She will discuss barriers to advancement for women in international security, WIIS’s work to close the leadership gap in women’s participation, and the importance of inclusive and diverse participation in peace and security. When and where: 6:00 pm Tuesday, December 4 at CSIS, 1800 K Street, NW. Note: You must have a current membership with YPFP to RSVP.
