New! TWO SESSIONS ON HOW BEST TO ENTER THE U.S. FEDERAL SECTOR (April 17 and 18; please plan to attend both sessions if at all possible, though you are welcome to attend only one if that’s all your schedule permits.)
-- THE FEDERAL HIRING PROCESS (April 17, 5:00 to 6:30 pm)
This session will focus on the tips and strategies for searching USAJobs and finding positions that fit your skill set. The speaker is Nancy Segal, owner of Solutions for the Workplace, LLC. Ms. Segal will address: Finding and understanding vacancy announcements, effective ways to use USAJobs, and how to structure a federal resume and respond to an occupational questionnaire. She will also address Veterans’ preference, the meaning of Schedule A, B, C, and more. Ms. Segal is a Certified Federal Job Search Trainer and Certified Federal Resume Writer. -- WRITING A FEDERAL RESUME (April 18, 5:00 to 6:30 pm)
This session will introduce you to the CCAR format to write accomplishment statements in your federal resume. CCAR = Content, Context, Action, Result. Nancy Segal will focus on how to use key words from the job announcement to enhance your chances of making it through the first stage of the hiring process.
