Details New! WORLD BANK “MANAGING DEEP UNCERTAINTY” WORKSHOP: Participants needed! (May 15, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm)

The World Bank is designing a suite of technical training exercises to teach staff members, policy makers, development practitioners, and academics about “deep uncertainty.” The workshop will explore various sources of uncertainty and approaches to designing long-lived investments that are robust to many possible futures. The World Bank is hosting a dress rehearsal in preparation for a pilot delivery of the workshop to client countries in East Asia and the Pacific. The rehearsal will give participants a great opportunity to learn about the Bank’s work on decision making, resilience, and project design, as well as get a first-hand taste of the training, which will be facilitated for developing country experts just a few weeks later. This is open to 30 graduate students from DC-area universities.
