Description
Daniel Madigan, S.J. taught from 2000-2007 at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome and founded the university's Institute for the Study of Religions and Cultures, which opened in 2002. His specialization is Islam and the Institute has proved especially useful in facilitating the understanding of Islam in the years following the September 11 attack. Father Madigan is also a consultor to the Vatican's Commission for Religious Religious Relations with Muslims and was appointed to that post by Pope Benedict XVI.
