The Center for Strategic and International Studies and The Asian Studies Program and Department of History of Georgetown University Present 'YASUKUNI' A Film Screening and Panel Discussion Date: Thursday, November 19 Time: 3pm-6pm Location: 203 Car Barn (3520 Prospect St., NW) RSVP: http://www12.georgetown.edu/sfs/rsvp/asia Each year on August 15, thousands of people pour into Tokyo's Yasukuni Shrine where the Japanese war dead, including WWII war criminals, are enshrined. In this documentary shot over the course of 10 years, director Li Ying tirelessly chronicles those who visit the Shrine from various backgrounds and perspectives--patriotic veterans, extreme nationalists and angry protesters from China and Korea.
