Department of Performing Arts-Music Program And the Brazilian Studies Program present Cliff Korman Roda de Jazz: Brazilian Improvisation Friday November 20th, 2009 @ 7 PM to 9 PM Location: McNeir Hall, New North Bldg. Ticket Prices: FREE!!!! Running time: 2 hours The Brazilian Studies Program is pleased to announce a performance by Cliff Korman, a member of the faculty at Manhattan School of Music, and a highly accomplished performer and composer of Brazilian jazz. He has recorded and performed with many great Brazilian musicians, including with Paulo Moura, Mauricio Einhorn, Toninho Horta, Nelson Faria and many others. He will be joined by Leonardo Lucini on bass, David Saks on trombone, Jonas Durante on drums, and Pablo de Oliveira on cavaco, each a leading Brazilian musician in Washington DC. They will perform standards from the choro repertoire along with some of Korman's own compositions, in a setting favoring improvisation and musical dialogue Cliff Korman’s site: http://cliffkorman.com/Home.html Parking: Street parking is available or patrons may park (for a fee) in the Leavey Center (entrance on Reservoir Road) or SWQ parking facilities (enter via Canal Road). There is Free on- campus parking on weekends. |
