Details Please join us for “Before Dawn: Polish Messianism as a Heretical Way out of the Universal Crisis,” a colloquium with Dr. Bogna J. Obidzinska, a Visiting Research Fellow at the Woodstock Theological Center at Georgetown University.

Polish Messianism, a romantic formula developed in the 19th Century within the context of Poland’s geopolitical inexistence and cultural oppression, has reappeared at the beginning of the 21st Century as Polish society confronts its modern secular transformation. At this event, Dr. Bogna J. Obidzinska will explore 21st Century Polish Messianism in relation to three traditional dimensions: millenarism, passionism, and missionism.

Dr. Obidzinska is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Philosophy of Jagiellonian University in Kraków. She also appears as a commentator on the Polish national TV networks Superstacja and TVP Info.

All are welcome to join us for this presentation and conversation. Light refreshments will be served.
