| Details | This conversation will explore the tension in the religious studies discipline between being a scholar and being an advocate. Does advocacy for a position, particularly around issues of social justice, have a place in the field? Does such advocacy diminish the objectivity of scholarly methods? Do scholarly associations, such as the American Academy of Religion, have a role to play in social justice movements? |
