Dr. Robert Simmons, Assistant Professor of Teacher Education; Director, Center for Innovation in Urban Education; and Affiliate Faculty, African and African American Studies, Loyola University, Baltimore Maryland. “Making Jesuit education work for African American males: Lessons learned from research and personal experience.” Dr. Simmons, author of White Teachers/Diverse Classrooms: Creating Inclusive Schools, Building on Students’ Diversity, and Providing True Educational Equity, will discuss his research related to urban education, the experience of African American students in Jesuit high schools and the social justice implications of insuring success in colleges and universities.
