'Technologies for Affordable Precision Medicine'
The cost of sequencing has dropped about 6 to 10 -fold per year for the past 8 years. Nanopores and fluorescent in situ sequencing present new opportunities. DNA synthesis on chips and human genome editing are also improving rapidly, most recently Cas9. The above methods applied to open-access genomic, environmental (microbiome & immunome), diverse trait data (PersonalGenomes.org) and organs-on-chips provide testbeds for highly integrative precision medicine focused on causality.
