Lombardi caBIG™ Summit AGENDA
The Lombardi caBIG™ Summit will include presentations and strategic discussions on caBIG™ deployment at GUMC. Dr. Ken Buetow, program director of the NCI’s Center for Bioinformatics, will provide the overview, and introduce a program of expert presentations on:
* Clinical Trials Compatibility Framework
* Life Sciences Distribution
* Data Sharing and Security Framework
* Rembrandt (Repository of Molecular BRAin Neoplasia DaTa)
* C3D (A clinical trials data management system)
* caTissue (tissue bank repository tool for biospecimen tracking, and basic annotation)
* caTIES (a locator to tissue resources via the extraction of coded information from free text surgical pathology reports tracking, and basic annotation)
* caIntegrator - access/analyze data across multiple clinical trials and studies
The Lombardi caBIG™ Summit will help us determine effective translational science tools for GUMC.

caBIG™ serves as the cornerstone of the National Cancer Institute’s biomedical informatics efforts to transform cancer research into a more collaborative, efficient, and effective endeavor.Moreover, caBIG™ “Best Practices” are increasingly becoming important ingredients for successful, funded NIH research proposals.
