Agape retreat (pronounced ah’-gah-pay) is open to any sophomore, junior or senior who has not made a previous Agape retreat at Georgetown. This weekend retreat is based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola who taught that God unconditionally loves us all regardless of our setbacks. The word “agape” refers to this love – unconditional, unbounded, and freely given to us by God.
We invite you to join us on this weekend retreat and enjoy the gift of time to explore yourself and the relationships in your life. On Agape you are given the space to grow, connect, and transform by reflecting on your identity, your relationship with God, the question of love, brokenness, healing and how to live after Agape.
Since its founding in 1987, Agape retreat has been led by Georgetown students who have previously made the retreat. We often hear student’s say that Agape is “one of, if not the best experience of my time at Georgetown.” No previous retreat experience is needed to come on Agape. If you are Catholic, Christian, questioning, spiritual but not religious – it’s for YOU. We look forward to welcoming you on Agape!
