Painter, poet, professor, critic, idealist, and recipient of the Indian Government’s prestigious Padmashri award, by whose creativity the medieval—from Europe to Japan—meets the modern in all of its splendor and pain, Gulam Mohammed Sheikh (b. 1937) will be illustrating and reflecting on his life’s work and bringing his unique visual voice of reason and tolerance. Sheikh has been a major figure in the world of Indian art for more than five decades.
