This year’s annual global conference will be one of the first official meetings focusing on the transatlantic partnership endorsed by President Barack Obama in his 2013 State of the Union speech. Andreas Pinkwart, former Deputy Chair of the Free Democratic Party of Germany and President of Handelshochschuleandelshochschule Leipzig, together with Peter Fischer, Minister for Economics of the German Embassy, will specifically address this issue.

Other keynoters include Francisco Sánchez, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, on “Opportunities in the Global Marketplace” and Ambassador Charles Ford, Deputy Director General, U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service, on “Trade Promotion: Imperative and Implementation.” Overall, speakers from 16 countries will discuss changing international consumers, university approaches to internationalization, new opportunities for commerce in Asia and Latin America, and other recent research findings in the areas of trade policy and international marketing.
