Description
If you do any research in classes or for your thesis involving human subjects (interviews, surveys, etc.), Federal law and institutional policy require that your research be reviewed and approved by Georgetown's Institutional Review Board (IRB). Prof. Diana Owen is conducting an IRB session specifically for CCT students. She'll go over all the forms you need to complete, the tutorial you need to take, and will answer questions. This will be the ONLY session we offer on this, so please plan to attend if you think you might be doing research of this kind.
Please RSVP to cctprogram@georgetown.edu
The IRB's Mission: 'The Institutional Review Board's (IRB) major role is to safeguard the rights and welfare of all human subjects who participate in research projects conducted by Georgetown. In compliance with Federal law and institutional policy, all research projects involving human subjects or human material must be reviewed and approved by the IRB. All biomedical, social and behavioral research projects conducted by the faculty, the staff and students of the University are subject to the Policies and Procedures of the Institutional Review Board.'
