The Mortara Center for International Studies, the GU Pakistan Flood Relief Task Force and South Asian Society invite you to join His Excellency Mr. Husain Haqqani, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, for a discussion about Pakistan’s floods.

Mr Haqqani will discuss “Pakistan’s Floods – The Road Ahead” at the Mortara Center at 7.30 pm on Monday, November 15, 2010. The lecture will prompt discussion amongst students to increase awareness about the plight of 20+ million people affected by this century’s worst humanitarian disaster. The GU Pakistan Relief Task Force will be collecting donations for the relief effort.

Ambassador Haqqani is known as a professor at Boston University and Co-Chair of the Hudson Institute's Project on the Future of the Muslim World as well as editor of the journal 'Current Trends in Islamist Thought.' Haqqani came to the U.S. in 2002 as a Visiting Scholar at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and an adjunct Professor at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University. His syndicated column is published in several newspapers in South Asia and the Middle East, including Oman Tribune, Jang, The Indian Express, Gulf News and The Nation (Pakistan). Mr Haqqani's book 'Pakistan Between Mosque and Military,' received favorable reviews in several prominent international journals and newspapers.
