GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY AND THE DAVIS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER present the DC PREMIERE OF Robin Becker Dance 'Into Sunlight' Acclaimed choreographer Robin Becker’s dance company performs the DC premiere of 'Into Sunlight,' inspired by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Maraniss's book “They Marched Into Sunlight,' a cultural history of war and protest set in 1967. Performed by an ensemble of 16, the work explores the dimensions and effects of war on both those in battle and those at home desperately searching for peace. Becker has been praised by the New York Times for her “eloquent simplicity” and by Backstage for her “original voice.” For both performances, Maraniss will provide an introduction and participate in a post-show discussion with the artists and audience.
